Dave Sauer, September’s Artist of the Month

LaPorte Jewelers is proud to announce Dave Sauer as our featured artist for the month of September. Dave will be debuting his work in our gallery on Friday, September 2nd from 6-8pm. Wine and cheese soiree will be provided by LaPorte Jewelers.

Featured in the 19th Issue of Lancaster’s Fine Living Magazine, Dave expresses his art through sheer emotion, choosing his color palette based on the hue of his mood.

David’s paintings are characterized by bold, expressive use of color, loose brushwork and a convincing sense of depth–all of which allow the viewer to involve themselves emotionally with the work. Strong composition and color makes a statement from across the room; the artist’s concern with application of paint, translucency of layers and subtle working in the surface of the paint makes the work even more interesting up close.

Born in Lancaster , David now resides in nearby  Lebanon . After completing his B.A. in Commercial Art from Millersville University , he began his career as a graphic artist. Intense deadlines and long hours prevented him from painting for over twelve years. Fortunately, in 2005, he made the time and devoted studio space in his home to begin painting again. This new-found opportunity for personal creative expression, along with nearly two decades of graphic design experience have positively influenced David’s painting style and passion for painting. “I don’t have a long list of awards, associations or formal training to tell about”, says David. “I prefer to let my work speak for itself. I enjoy the process of painting, exploring new ground and trying new approaches. I am both honored and motivated by the fact that many people respond so positively to my work.”

Please join us in welcoming Dave to our gallery for the month of September at our “First Friday” event. Hope to see you there!
